The NOLIMITS platform offers advanced microscopy and bioimaging services to support scientific research in the life sciences.
Its technologies enable the preparation and analysis of in vitro and in vivo samples, allowing for a comprehensive visualisation of the ultrastructure of cells and tissues, from the mesoscale down to the nanoscale.
The instrumentation includes:
- confocal microscopy: four single-photon microscopes and one multiphoton microscope
- spinning disk microscopy
- electron microscopy: one transmission electron microscope (TEM) and two field emission scanning electron microscopes (FE-SEM)
- wide-field fluorescence microscopy: three dedicated instruments
- automated slide scanners for high-throughput analysis of histological samples
- cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) for observing biological samples in near-native conditions
- magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for non-invasive imaging applications
Thanks to this infrastructure, NOLIMITS provides the scientific community not only with cutting-edge imaging equipment but also with expert consulting and support in image management and analysis, fostering interdisciplinary research in biotechnology, medicine and molecular biology.
NOLIMITS is available to researchers affiliated with the University of Milan, who can book their work sessions by logging in with their university credentials.
