Short-term housing

Students enrolled in the filter semester for academic year 2025/2026

Students enrolled in the filter semester at the University of Milan may apply for short-term housing (temporary lodgings) exclusively for the period from 1 September to 29 September 2025, which is the period of in-person classes.

Applications must be submitted between 15.00 on 26 July and 15.00 on 6 August 2025 via the dedicated online form linked on this page, using the university login credentials provided at the time of enrolment in the filter semester.

The Residence Hall Office will inform applicants of the outcome of their application within 5 working days, by writing to their university email address.

Based on submission order and room availability, the application may be accepted or rejected.

If the application is accepted, the student will receive a payment notice. Payment must be made within 48 hours. Failure to pay within the deadline will result in forfeiture of the assigned place.

Short-term housing available for September is primarily reserved for students enrolled in the filter semester.
A total of 250 places are available for short-term housing.

Other categories of students and guests

In general, the following types of students may apply for short-term housing:

  • undergraduate, graduate and PhD students of the University of Milan who reside outside the city;
  • visiting students staying in Milan for academic reasons, internships, training, and/or participation in conferences organised by the University of Milan.

Accommodation is assigned upon request, subject to availability.

Requests must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the desired stay, by accessing the dedicated online form (linked on this page) with your university credentials.

The Residence Hall Office will notify applicants of the outcome of their request via email, within 5 working days.

Depending on the order of submission and availability, the request may be accepted or rejected.

Fees

The minimum accommodation period is one week. The weekly rate is €140.

The monthly rate is €450 for a single room and €400 for a double room.

No refunds will be issued in the event of early departure or failure to check in within the booked period.

How to apply for short-term housing

Short-term housing requests can be submitted throughout the year, but rooms will only be assigned subject to availability.

Short-term housing is not available in August, due to the closure of the halls of residence.
