Short-term housing

Short-term housing for students

The following types of students may apply for short-term housing:

  • undergraduate, graduate and PhD students regularly enrolled at the University of Milan, provided that their place of residence is not in Milan;
  • visiting students who are coming to Milan for study periods, internships or conferences organised by our University.

Short‑term housing is assigned upon request and subject to availability, only during the following periods:

  • September (requests can be submitted starting from June)
  • March-July (requests can be submitted from February until June)

In the remaining months, the online request form is closed.
In August, all the Halls of Residence of the University of Milan are closed, so no short-term housing is available.

Requests for short-term housing must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the desired stay. To submit your request, access the online form by clicking on "Apply for short-term housing" and enter your university email and password.
The Residence Hall Office will notify you of the outcome of your request via email, within 5 working days.

Requests will be accepted in order of receipt and subject to availability
Should your request be accepted, the Residence Hall Office will send you a payment notice. To confirm your booking, please pay the required amount within 48 hours. Once payment is received, we will send you your booking confirmation, with all check-in instructions.

Please note that failing to pay within the deadline will result in forfeiture of your assigned accommodation.
