Green spaces
The university is surveying and managing university spaces that can be considered urban green spaces or agricultural and forest areas with the aim of both promoting the use of these spaces by the student population and protecting biodiversity, in line with strategies to reduce the impact of climate change.
The university also has farms and botanical gardens, including the ones in Brera and Città Studi, where teaching and research activities alternate with the protection and conservation of endangered plant species and with initiatives for raising local and regional awareness of the issue.
Green areas also play an important role in the redevelopment project for the Città Studi area and the new campus in the Milan Innovation District (MIND), which contains a green area of approximately 7,500 square metres.
