Waste Management
The university defines strategies and actions to manage the waste cycle in a sustainable manner and to reduce waste production by identifying the most suitable and sustainable treatment for each type of waste for the benefit of the environment.
The university has defined concrete actions to ensure recycling and the management of special waste.
In particular, the university collaborates with AMSA to ensure the collection of unsorted waste, paper, plastic/cans and glass at all locations and of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste (chemical, medical, veterinary) in compliance with industry regulations and according to standardised procedures that guarantee it is tracked and entrusted to authorised operators. It also disposes of alkaline batteries and used toner cartridges, electrical and electronic equipment, lead batteries, furniture and oversized items, as well as radioactive waste.
