Learning objectives
The learning objectives of the course are to provide the student an updated knowledge on the existing feeding innovations in the field of farm animals. The teaching will consider the different topics with a technological and nutritional approach, accounting for the possible related advantages on livestock welfare.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to choose, evaluate and suggest the best available nutritional innovations for the different farm animal species and rearing cycles, according to production objectives and the current regulatory framework on welfare. Moreover, the student will be able to determine and suggest the positioning of new products on the market, accounting for their degrees of innovation and the current European legal framework

The course will be based on frontal lessons, field trips and training sessions with case-study-based discussions and lab. The course topics will be available by power point slide presentations uploaded on ARIEL platform, together with textbooks suggested by the professors (Manuale di nutrizione dei ruminanti da latte, ed. Ronchi B, Savoini G., Trabalza Marinucci M., EDISES, 2021)

Assessment methods and Criteria
Oral examination (Prof Savoini): oral questions
Written exam (Prof. Pastorelli): written exam with 10 closed answers and two open ; duration of the written test 1 hour
Evaluation parameters: knowledge of the subject and critical reasoning skills on the study carried out. Vote expressed in thirtieths
