Master Coordinator
The Vocational Master in Trauma Management and Acute Care Surgery provides the specialized skills necessary for managing the organizational and clinical needs that the critical patient (surgical and polytraumatized) imposes. Students, using the skills acquired, will be able to: understand the organization of an integrated territory-hospital service for the management of major trauma; manage the diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative and care pathway of major trauma and critical surgical patients; know the LaNTS (Life and Non Technical Skills) that are essential in trauma management and acute care surgery; understand the meaning of the LaNTS in relation to personal and group performance in stressful conditions.

The Vocational Master will consist of 260 hours (26 CFUs) of face-to-face teaching and 240 hours (17 CFUs) of other forms of training. To complete the programme, students will take a 300 hours (12 CFUs) of internship and a final exam (5 CFU) consisting of a written exam and an advanced simulation for assessing the acquired skills. A total of 60 CFUs are awarded for the vocational master.

Extremity trauma (upper and lower limbs)

Acute Care Surgery
Prevention and rehabilitation in Trauma Management and Acute Care Surgery
Advanced assessment and treatment of vital functions using Low, Moderate and High Fidelity Simulation
The LaNTS (Life and Non Technical Skills) Model applied to Trauma Management and Acute Care Surgery using Low, Moderate and High Fidelity Simulation

Admitted applicants must pay an enrolment fee amounting to euro 5.516.

The University participates in the PA 110 cum laude program of the Department of Public Administration. Discounts are available for students enrolled in the Vocational Master's programs. The programme is open to holders of Master's degrees in Medicine and Surgery (LM-41 pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004).
Participants will be able to apply specialized skills in: highly-specialised trauma centres, local trauma centres and emergency stabilisation rooms; surgery wards at A&E hospitals; acute medicine and emergency room services; community emergency services and regional emergency agencies; organisations where acute surgery and trauma and emergency medicine are provided at conflict and natural disaster sites.
