SLAM conferences

The conferences of the SLAM centre
Language teaching and the Companion Volume. The text, descriptors, digital environments, practices and experiences - 16 and 17 November 2021

With the international conference "Language teaching and the Companion Volume. The text, descriptors, digital environments, practices and experiences", online on the Teams platform on 16 and 17 November, the University Language Centre - SLAM launched its scientific activity alongside its established language course offerings and services.

This first event was specifically geared to language teachers, researchers, PhD candidates and scholars, as well as language professionals and students. It was a forum for discussion of training practices in multilingual and multicultural environments, including online. Scholars from the University of Milan, as well as other Italian universities, the Council of Europe and the Ministry of Education took part in this two-day event. A total of 24 speakers reasoned on the language teaching and learning guidelines provided by the Council of Europe through the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and its addenda, including the essential Companion Volume published in 2018. Its official translation into Italian was edited by Monica Barsi, professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Edoardo Lugarini and Anna Cardinaletti.

The conference took place online on the MTeams platform. The recordings of individual sessions are now available.
