Veterinary Biotechnology Sciences
-preventive and therapeutic fields, with particular focus on the development and testing of innovative products applied to animal pathology; the use of new methodological approaches in the pharmacological and toxicological fields; and the use of animal models for biomedical studies and cell therapy;
-design and production, particularly in relation to patents in the health sector;
-diagnostics, through the management of molecular technologies and cellular biotechnologies applied to the health sector, animal selection, comparative, translational, and environmental research;
-management and welfare of classical and innovative animal models, in relation to biotechnology-based markers;
-quality control of foods of animal origin and animal feed;
-technological design and research for the selection and management of animal species;
-animal production and reproduction;
-preservation of animal biodiversity and protection of species at risk of extinction;
-technical and scientific information and dissemination;
-consultancy activities in the field of bio- and nanotechnologies;
-aAssessment and monitoring of environmental safety.
These activities may be carried out in:
-Universities;
-Research institutions and public bodies (such as the National Research Council ? CNR, the National Institute of Health ?Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Experimental Zooprophylactic Institutes, organizations of the National Health Service, the National Environmental Agency, etc.);
-Pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and reproductive industries, as well as biotechnology and reproduction laboratories;
-Food and feed industries, including food processing industries, with a biotechnological focus;
-Public and private institutions and laboratories involved in: pre-clinical service activities in the medical and veterinary fields, technical and scientific communication and dissemination, quality control management, clinical monitoring, regulatory affairs, and the management and creation of biotechnology enterprises in both the public and private sectors.
Employment statistics (Almalaurea)
Possono accedere al Corso di laurea Magistrale in Scienze Biotecnologiche Veterinarie i laureati di I livello nelle seguenti classi, nonchè nelle corrispondenti classi relative al D.M. 509/99,: L 2, L 13, L 25, L 26, L 38. Possono altresì accedere laureati di altre classi che dovranno aver acquisito almeno 60 CFU in SSD riguardanti le discipline: alimentazione e allevamento animale (AGR/18, AGR/19, AGR/20), biochimica (BIO/10), biologia (BIO/05, BIO/11, BIO/13), chimica (CHIM/01, CHIM/03, CHIM06, CHIM/09, AGR/13), farmacologia e tossicologia (BIO/14, VET/07), genetica (BIO/18, AGR/17, AGR/07), entomologia (AGR/11), malattie infettive e parassitarie (VET/05, VET/06), microbiologia (BIO/19, MED/07, VET/05), morfofisiologia (BIO/06, BIO/17, BIO/09, VET/01, VET/02), patologia (MED/04, VET/03), produzione e riproduzione animale (VET/10), gestionali (AGR/01).
Modalità di verifica delle conoscenze e della preparazione personale.
I candidati italiani e gli studenti stranieri verranno ammessi alla laurea magistrale sulla base del curriculum di studi, dei titoli presentati e, solo nel caso si ritenga utile per la valutazione della carriera pregressa, di un colloquio anche per via telematica. Il colloquio sarà effettuato dalla Commissione di Ammissione del corso di laurea e sarà volto a verificare il grado di conoscenza nelle seguenti discipline: Biologia molecolare e biochimica applicata, Farmacologia e tossicologia, Parassitologia, Embriologia, Alimentazione e nutrizione animale, con esito espresso in termini di Ammesso/Non Ammesso. In caso di trasferimento da altro Ateneo o da altro corso di laurea, l'ammissione ad anni successivi al primo sarà subordinata alla valutazione della carriera pregressa da parte del Collegio Didattico.
Gli studenti laureati nei Corsi di Laurea in Biotecnologia (K06) e Biotecnologie Veterinarie possono iscriversi direttamente al corso di Laurea magistrale previa valutazione da parte del Collegio.

For students enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's and single-cycle degree programmes, tuition fees are to be paid in two instalments:
- the amount of the first instalment is the same for all students and is due upon enrolment
- the amount of the second instalment varies according to each student's ISEE University value and the degree programme in which they are enrolled
- for international students with income and assets abroad, the second instalment varies according to their country of origin.
