IUPALS - Italian Universities for Palestinian Students

IUPALS - Italian Universities for Palestinian Students is a project coordinated by the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities (CRUI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of University and Research. The goal is to allocate scholarships for Palestinian students who reside in the Palestinian territories and want to attend a Bachelor's, Master's or single-cycle Master's degree programme at one of the Italian universities participating in the project.

For the academic year 2025/2026, the University of Milan will allocate 10 scholarships.

Who can apply

Palestinian students residing in the Palestinian territories who want to attend a Bachelor's, Master's or single-cycle Master's degree programme at the University of Milan. 

Benefits

Each scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • accommodation in a double room at one of the University residences;
  • two meals a day, seven days a week, at the University cafeterias or other affiliated restaurants and bars;
  • tuition fee;
  • registration with the National Health Service (Servizio Sanitario Nazionale);
  • public transport season ticket;
  • PC on loan.

Students will also receive a total amount of €4,000, paid in two instalments.

Additionally, beneficiaries are offered:

  • academic tutoring to better organise their studies and meet academic deadlines;
  • guidance services to encourage their integration in social and academic life and receive assistance on administrative procedures for their stay in Italy;
  • counselling services to help them alleviate stress, anxiety or other emotional difficulties which they may experience during their stay in Italy;
  • an Italian language course.
