Studying Medicine and Surgery

Programme Organization

The lectures and teaching activities are organized into two semesters:

  1. from October to December – first semester

  2. from February to May – second semester

Limited enrolment

Bachelor's and master's degree programmes in Medicine have a cap on enrolment.

The dates of the entrance examinations, as well as the procedures and content of the entrance examinations are defined on a national level through Ministerial Decrees.

Electives

Students enrolled in bachelor's and master's degree programmes in the Area of Medicine must obtain a certain number of credits in electives through seminars, internships, participation in conferences and conventions or summer school courses in order to have access to the final exam.

The elective credits (CFU) can also be obtained through participation in an Erasmus programme.

The University of Milan offers study awards for students or graduates, thanks to its own or external funding.
