Sustainability Observatory

The University Sustainability Observatory was established to perform the following tasks:

  • promoting and raising awareness of sustainability, its issues and implications both within and outside the university, providing support for the implementation of Agenda 2030 and the National Strategy for Sustainable Development
     
  • coordinating the participation of various members of the university community in synergy with the university's departments and administrative divisions and in collaboration with the university's representatives in the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS)
     
  • identifying priority areas of intervention, planning of initiatives and projects
     
  • promoting initiatives for the university community, including national and international events and projects for sharing best practices
     
  • publishing results regularly through communication campaigns agreed upon with other structures, using quantitative indicators to publicise the main results achieved
     

preparing an annual report addressed to the Rector and the Director General, containing an assessment of achievements and proposals for action in each work area.

The following are members of the Sustainability Observatory:

  • the Vice Rector for Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition, acting as coordinator
  • four members representing teaching and research staff
  • four members representing technical-administrative and library staff, appointed for their specific expertise on topics covered by the working group
  • eight student representatives selected through a special call for applications.

The coordinator has the authority to invite experts or observers to Observatory meetings for matters falling within their area of expertise.
